Duncan Campbell was born 1540 at Castle Swinn, Argyllshire, Scotland and died 1594.

He married Mary MacLeod. She was born 1552 in Dunvegan, Isle of Skye, Scotland. She was the daughter of William MacLeod and Agnes Fraser.

Their children were:

Sir Dugald Campbell (born 1576 in Auchinbreck, Argyllshire, Scotland)
